Strides for Green Initiatives was privileged to be represented by two staff members at the 5thAnnual Renewable Energy Conference & EXPO (REC25) held from 20thto 22nd October 2025 at the Kampala Serena Hotel. The event wasorganised by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development (MEMD) incollaboration with the National Renewable Energy Platform (NREP). Theconference convened policymakers, private sector actors, researchers,development partners, and civil society organisations committed toadvancing Uganda’s renewable energy transition.
Theconference was held under the theme: “Transforming Energy Systemsfor Livelihoods and Conservation.” Discussions focused on howrenewable energy can simultaneously support economic growth, environmental conservation, and improved livelihoods.
Keytopics included:
Expanding access to clean energy and financing for off-grid and mini-gridsolutions.
Promoting clean cooking and energy efficiency initiatives.
Linking renewable energy to agricultural value chains and productive use ofenergy.
Leveraging innovation, technology, and partnerships for sustainable energy development.
Integrating inclusive energy solutions that support women, youth, and vulnerable communities.


Atthe conference, Strides for Green Initiatives took part in high-leveldialogues alongside dignitaries, development partners, and the Guestof Honour. Discussions focused on scaling up community-based greeninitiatives and integrating renewable energy solutions in Uganda’srural and underserved communities.
Our representatives highlighted the organisation’s ongoing work inpromoting renewable energy adoption and environmental sustainability,aligning local actions with national energy goals. We also explored partnerships and funding opportunities to support clean energy innovation and community impact.
Theconference also benefited from the participation and support of the British High Commission Kampala. The United Kingdom was recognised as a key development partner in Uganda’s clean energy agenda, reflected in the REC25 session titled “Affirming UK‑UgandanCollaborations in Energy Access.” This collaboration highlights the UK’s continued commitment to supporting Uganda’s renewable energy transition through policy partnerships, investment, and technology transfer.
Notably,in previous editions of the Renewable Energy Conference, the British High Commissioner to Uganda, H.E. Lisa Chesney, expressedappreciation to organisers and reaffirmed the UK’s dedication topromoting renewable energy development in Uganda. The UK’sinvolvement at REC25 further underscores the importance of international partnerships in achieving sustainable energy access and climate action goals.
Participation in REC25 strengthens Strides for Green Initiatives’ reputation as acredible and proactive partner in renewable energy andsustainability. It enhances our visibility among government entities, donors, and investors while aligning us with Uganda’s and globalclean energy priorities.

Foster partnerships that enhance innovation and climate action.
The insights and connections gained from REC25 will guide our upcoming projects and strengthen our capacity to deliver impactful renewable energy programs. We are committed to deepening collaborations withstakeholders and ensuring that renewable energy contributes directlyto improved livelihoods, gender equality, and environmentalconservation.
