Strides for Green Initiative (SGI)joined the national celebration of Environment Week 2025, a weekdedicated to fostering climate consciousness, environmentalstewardship, and sustainable action across Uganda. The event broughttogether youth leaders, policymakers, environmental advocates, andlocal communities to promote collective efforts toward a greener andmore resilient future.
As part of our ongoing commitment toenvironmental restoration and community engagement, SGI took anactive role throughout the week. Our team participated in dialogues,clean-up drives, and school sensitization sessions aimed at educatingstudents on waste management, reforestation, and climate action. Wealso showcased our ongoing tree-planting projects, which arecontributing to ecosystem restoration in the western region ofUganda.
Engaged over 300 youth inenvironmental awareness and advocacy sessions.
Planted 500 indigenous trees incollaboration with partner schools.
Participated in policydiscussions emphasizing climate finance and youth involvement.
Strengthened partnerships withlocal NGOs and government agencies for future green initiatives.

The Environment Week 2025 providedSGI with a renewed sense of purpose and collaboration. Movingforward, we plan to scale up our environmental education programs andexpand community-based restoration projects. Our goal is to ensurethat every Ugandan community becomes an active participant inbuilding a sustainable and climate-resilient nation.
